🍂 Hello, Autumn! 🍁
The first day of fall is here, and a brand-new season means so many new things to wonder about, explore, and discover! 🧡
Fall gives our little learners endless opportunities to follow their curiosity through play:
🍁 While collecting and sorting leaves: Why are some leaves red, yellow, or orange? Why do leaves fall from the trees? Which leaf is bigger? Can we sort them by color, shape, or size?
🎃 While exploring pumpkins: How does a pumpkin grow? What’s inside? Will it sink or float? Which pumpkin is heavier? How many seeds might be inside?
🍎 While investigating apples: What happens when we cut an apple open? Do all apples look the same inside? Which ones taste sweet or sour? What happens when we mix colors to create apple-inspired art?
🌳 During outdoor play and nature walks: What has changed since summer? Why is the air cooler? What sounds can we hear? Where are the insects going? What are the squirrels collecting—and why?
🧱 During building and dramatic play: Can we build a shelter for an animal preparing for winter? How tall can we make our pumpkin stand? What happens if we add more blocks? How can we create our own pretend apple orchard or farmers market?
🎨 During art and sensory play: What happens when we mix red and yellow? What patterns can leaves make? How do pinecones, leaves, pumpkins, and apples feel different? What happens when we press, roll, stamp, pour, scoop, and mix?
These simple questions encourage children to observe, predict, compare, count, problem-solve, experiment, communicate their ideas, and discover answers through hands-on play. That’s where some of the best learning happens—when a child’s own curiosity leads the way! ❤️
We can’t wait to see what questions our children ask, what answers they discover, and where their curiosity takes us this fall! 🍎🍁🎃
