Meet Coach Abe!

Abe has been teaching parkour and freerunning for over 10 years. He has built our Parkour program and trained many instructors and assistants who have gone on to teach Parkour at UMO School and beyond!

Coach Abe's superpower is developing step-by-step progressions to achieve any skill a student would like to achieve. Here's what Coach Abe shares about his highly popular backflip workshop: "I can’t count the amount of times I’ve been asked if I can do a backflip and when I ask students what’s the main skill they want to learn it’s almost always a backflip. Because of the overwhelming popularity I developed the How 2 Backflip method of teaching basically anyone how to backflip using safe and methodical steps and progressions. If you have always wanted to be able to backflip this is the perfect place to learn."

Have a goal to achieve an impressive flip, jump, or trick? There is still room in Coach Abe's Parkour Basics and Tricks class for ages 10-18 Mondays at 3:15pm - email us to sign up! Additionally, teens can drop in to open level Parkour for FREE every Wednesday at 3:15pm in partnership with Orbit Youth Center. Get ready...Summer fun is on the way! Summer camp and intensives registration opens on Monday, 4/27. Your favorite coaches, old friends, and exciting special guests will be joining us to lead specialized classes in aerial, parkour, jiu jitsu, acro gymnastics, and more!

Welcome (back) Coach Meghan!

Meghan will be coaching our non-performance aerial classes, Mondays at 3:15pm for ages 11+, 4:15pm for ages 7-11, and 5:15pm for ages 5-7!

UMO School is thrilled to welcome back Coach Meghan! Meghan is one of our former parkour coaches and a member of UMO Ensemble. This spring, they will be joining our aerial coaching team! Meghan has been training in aerial since 2016 and brings a wealth of performing arts teaching experience to the team. You may have seen them on Vashon stages performing with Vashon Repertory Theatre, UMO Ensemble, 14/48 Vashon, and more. Meghan loves clown and physical theatre and has studied under Chris Bayes, Jean Taylor, Giovanni Fusetti, and Philippe Gaulier. In addition to aerial coaching and performing, Meghan teaches clown, studies audio engineering, and enjoys picking up heavy objects for the sheer thrill.

We are so excited to see more of Coach Sarah!

Sarah will be coaching youth and adult aerial classes on Tuesdays!

Sarah has been pursuing aerial arts for many years now with UMO School. She has taught with UMO School through college, law school, and has been leading our adult aerial program this year while working full time as a lawyer! She loves the dynamic nature of aerial rope and hopes to inspire others to try out this extremely physical discipline. Sarah brings a fantastic blend of play and encouragment alongside a strong technique focus to her teaching. We are thrilled that Sarah is able to return to working with some of our youth aerial students this spring!

Sarah will be coaching Continuing Adult Aerial, Aerial 1, and Aerial Intro A.

Don't be late for your very important date with Alice, The Mad Hatter, and all the other familiar friends of Wonderland! Only two chances to see "Aerial Adventures in Wonderland" Friday Dec. 12 and Saturday Dec. 13 at 7pm!

This show is 100% student led, from the costumes, to sound design, choreography and more. We are so proud of our Aerial 3/Performance students.
