📅 September 15 is DOT DAY! We’re celebrating creativity, courage, and all the wonderful things that make each of our students unique.

Wear your favorite polka dots, colorful dots, dotted socks, shirts, bows, hats, or anything covered in DOTS! Get creative and have fun! 🎨✨

Just like in The Dot, we want every VES Bear to remember that sometimes all it takes is one small mark to begin something AMAZING.

On behalf of the Palmetto State Literacy Association, we honor Dolly Parton for the lasting difference she made in the lives of children through the gift of reading.

In 1995, Dolly founded the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, inspired in part by her father, who could not read or write. What began as an effort to place books in the hands of children in her hometown grew into a global literacy movement rooted in love, access, and the belief that every child deserves the wonder of a story.

Through the Imagination Library, children from birth through age five receive a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book each month, delivered directly to their homes. More than 325 million books have been gifted worldwide, inspiring countless bedtime stories, family conversations, new words, and tons of possibilities.

Your songs lifted our spirits, but your books filled children’s hands and imaginations. Thank you, Dolly, for helping generations of children dream more, learn more, care more, and be more. We honor a life of generosity and a literacy legacy that will continue to inspire generations of children.

May we continue turning the pages and opening doors for every child. 📖✨

Sincere Moore, a first grade BEARCUB, was the guest announcer at VES this morning! He did an amazing job and rounded out announcements with an acapella rendition of our school song.

The BearCubs are thankful to the Hampton County Association of Educational Office Professionals for donating a basket of school supplies. It takes a village.

Ms. Wells’ first grade scholars had a great time sorting 2D and 3D shapes. They even became competitive and turned sorting into a race. Mathematicians and designers!
