Volleyball season is upon us! David S***t practice for 5th and 6th grade Volleyball begins Monday, August 17 at 3:15 PM. Practice ends at 4:30 PM. Practice is weekly Monday - Thursday.

Volleyball parent/guardian meeting is Wednesday, August 19 at 4:30 PM in the gym. Learn about expectations and what it takes to be a member of the LOBO team.

DSE Beginning-of-Year iMSSA Testing is here!

Our 3rd-6th grade students will begin their Beginning-of-Year (BOY) iMSSA assessments next week. These assessments in Reading, Language Usage, and Math help our teachers understand what students already know, identify areas where additional support is needed, and plan instruction for the year ahead.

Testing Schedule:
Aug. 17: Reading Session 1 – 9:00 AM
Aug. 18: Reading Session 2 – 9:00 AM
Aug. 19: Language Usage Session 1 – 9:00 AM
Aug. 20: Language Usage Session 2 – 9:00 AM
Aug. 24: Math Session 1 – 9:00 AM
Aug. 25: Math Session 2 – 9:00 AM

Families, you can help.Please make sure students get a good night's sleep, arrive at school on time, eat breakfast, and come ready to take their time and do their best. We have something special planned. Students who attend EVERY testing session with no absences will earn an AMAZING incentive on Friday, August 28 at 1:00 PM!

Our goal isn't simply to finish the test,l it's for every student to show us what they know and what they're ready to learn next! Let's start the year strong.

Welcome Back to the New School Year!

Gallup-McKinley County Schools is excited to kick off another year of learning, growth, and community.

Students, we can't wait to see you on August 5th for the first day of school!

Before that, we're welcoming our staff back: 194-day staff return on August 3rd, and 192-day staff return on August 4th. We're glad to have you back and ready to make this year a great one for our students.
