The Vandalia Rotary Club welcomed Lindsay Lash, Principal of Vandalia Christian Academy (VCA), as the guest speaker for its August 18, 2026 meeting. Lash was invited to present the program by Rotarian Jarod Graves.
Lash shared the continued growth taking place at VCA, including enrollment increasing from 32 students last year to 68 students for the upcoming school year. She explained that the school focuses on strong academics alongside its mission of helping students develop a personal Christian faith. Lash noted that 100% of VCA students demonstrated growth in both math and reading during the previous school year.
VCA is recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education and offers small class sizes, preschool options, and athletic opportunities through a co-op with Altamont Lutheran. Lash also discussed plans to expand VCA to include a high school, with Kim Perkins joining the school to help launch the new program.
With continued enrollment growth and room for future expansion at its new facility, Lash emphasized the importance of community partnerships, volunteers, donors and local churches in supporting the school. She thanked Rotary members for the opportunity to share VCA's mission and the exciting growth taking place at the academy.
