Demmitt Elementary School

First graders enjoyed an amazing day at the Vandalia Sportsplex! ☀️⚽🏀 Students had a blast playing soccer and basketball, hiking the track, climbing the big hill, drawing with chalk, blowing bubbles, tossing frisbees, and playing noodle tag! The weather was absolutely perfect for a fun-filled day outdoors! 💛💜

Our second graders had a blast at their skate party at SkateWorld! 🛼🎉 So many smiles, laughs, and great memories made with friends. A fun day for everyone! 💜💛

Grandparents Day at Demmitt Elementary was one for the books! 💜💛 We had a packed house filled with so much love, laughter, and smiling faces. The kids were beyond excited to spend special time with their grandparents and loved ones. 🫶🏼

Demmitt Elementary’s first graders celebrated National Nursing Home Week by visiting Crossroads Rehabilitation and Nursing in Vandalia. The residents loved the pictures, cards, and special balloon launch! 🎈💜💛🎈

Muffins with Mom was a huge success! 🧁💐 We are so grateful to all the moms and special guests who joined us today. Your presence made it extra special! ❤️😊

A field trip to Boonshoft for second grade was made possible through a generous grant from the Vandalia Foundation and the Vandalia Butler Optimist Club. 🙌🏼 The students explored and learned through dramatic play 🍕👨🏼‍🔧, hands-on science experiments 👩🏽‍🔬, birdwatching from the treehouse 🌳, a visit to the planetarium 🔭, and even time in the mini zoo 🐢🐰🐍🦜🩺.

We’re excited to celebrate some of our Readathon winners! 📚✨ Students were recognized for both the most minutes read and the most money raised. The top reader in each category received a Kindle, and all other winners earned a $25 gift certificate to Dollar Book Swap.
