🎭 VYT IS LOOKING FOR DIRECTORS FOR OUR 2027 SEASON! 🎭

Do you have a passion for youth theatre and a vision you’re ready to bring to the stage? Vandalia Youth Theatre is now accepting director submissions for our 2027 season!

We’re looking for directors for:
🎬 Summer 2027 productions — Primary, Intermediate, Junior & Senior casts
🍂 Fall 2027 productions — Younger (4th–8th) & Older (7th–12th) casts
🐠 Young Performers — Kindergarten–2nd grade

A few important details:
✨ Directors must be 21+
✨ New VYT directors should submit a directing resume (or have previous assistant/music directing experience)
✨ Summer productions rehearse beginning in the spring, with performances in June & July
✨ Fall productions rehearse beginning in late August, with performances tentatively scheduled for November 19–21, 2027
✨ VYT values collaboration, flexibility and strong production teams

📅 SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE AUGUST 31, 2026 for consideration for the Summer 2027 season.

Directors may submit up to 3 show proposals per cast/season and must complete a separate form for each age group they wish to be considered for.

Every great villain needs a little magic—and Ursula’s cauldron was no exception!

This incredible piece was designed and built by Jake Lockwood for VYT’s production of The Little Mermaid Jr., bringing Ursula’s underwater lair to life in a truly unforgettable way.

From the design to the construction, so many details went into creating a set piece that felt right at home in Ursula’s world.

A huge THANK YOU to Jake for sharing his creativity, craftsmanship, and talent to make the magic happen onstage!
