I’m often overwhelmed by the generosity of our community!

Today we moved thousands of $$$ of backpack food from the Advent Calendar food drive, from Peoples State Bank of Newton to the food closet at Jefferson School.
*Vandalia Unit Teacher’s Association,
*the high school math team, and
*a few other good souls carried it all!
*And Kayla, from Peoples Bank sorted and consolidated all the donations.

Several of our faithful donors have asked if they could drop food items off at the bank during the school year. Of course, that is a great big YES, PLEASE!

If you’ve shopped the NG Advent Calendar, your food items can be taken to Peoples Bank any time between Jan 2 - Jan 6. Thank you for supporting our program and feeding hungry kids!

Many of you picked up Advent calendars at church this morning. Here is the Nourishing Greatness version ❤️

We feed over a hundred kids every week and it costs between $600-$700 each week to do so. Your donations make sustainability possible.

There are a lot of items in the calendar. I used to say it cost about $30 if you shopped at Aldi. …unfortunately we all know what has happened to the cost of groceries. Maybe team up with another family? I’d LOVE it if you got your kids involved. What a great experience and lesson for them. Do what you can and know that every item is appreciated.

The Farm Bureau Young Leaders have been supporting NG with the proceeds from their golf tournament for years! One of the best parts is that I get to see one of my favorite students, Dalton Forehand every year!

These sweet Girl Scouts presented me with a check tonight for $700! They earned the money by hosting a bake sale.

***EDIT*** These girls made $700 today! Thank you to the behind the scenes bakers who provided the baked goods and the leaders who organized the event. They are truly providing an experince in compassion for their troop!
