Summer meals program offers nutritious meals to kids
Children and teens ages 1-18 can enjoy a free lunch this summer through the Simplified Summer Food Program (SSFP) for children. The program is funded through a grant from the Department of Agriculture and provides lunches at two Battle Ground locations:
Kiwanis Park, 422 SW Second Ave., 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Monday–Friday from June 25–Aug. 17 (lunch will not be served July 4).
Maple Grove K-8 cafeteria, 610 SW Eaton Blvd., 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday from July 23-Aug. 10.
Sponsored by Battle Ground Public Schools, the program addresses the need for nutritious meals during the summer months when school is not in session. Children do not need to attend a Battle Ground school to participate; all children and teens are welcome.
Laurin Middle School
Laurin staff will take the time in advisory, core classrooms and use assessment data to best support and differentiate for each student.
Staff will work together in Professional Learning Communities to create the best plan for each student to grow academically and socially. We will work closely with families to ensure that home and school stay connected throughout the year.
Have a wonderful, safe and fun summer vacation!
Please welcome Mr. Kesler and Mrs. Thompson with open arms - they will do a wonderful job leading and we are happy to pass the torch on to them! Make us proud... keep showing Laurin Lion Pride!
