Currently, the program is inactive. This program engaged local youth leaders in philanthropy by immersing them in grantmaking decisions and processes.
The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington operated the Youth Philanthropy Program to inspire, equip, and mobilize young people to take action that changes their community and themselves. It was an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to serve as governance architects, fund developers and grant committee members, as they distributed funds to organizations that addressed the needs

We, the 2013-2014 students of the Youth Philanthropy Program, will support efforts within our community that address issues related to poverty such as hunger, homelessness, crime and drug abuse. Our goal is to build awareness of, volunteer for, and grant to organizations that best address these issues.
