I love being Mom to my amazing kids and every minute that I get to spend with them. I love their amazing Dad. I love that Nate & Maddy have joined us and embrace all my crazy! I love being a grandma to sweet Heidi and getting to watch my daughter mother now too. So thankful for my mom who is the perfect mom for me, loves me unconditionally, and continues to teach me often. Grateful for my wonderful mother in law who makes my family a priority and raised the best son 💕

I really like this! I’m all about academics, but there is so much more our kids need to learn

As a society, we put SO MUCH emphasis on academics and very little into habits that make a responsible, happy, well-adjusted child (and future adult). When you see an opportunity in your day to teach a simple skill, take the few minutes to do it. Don’t put it off. Do it! Empower your child. Give them the wings of autonomy. What is ✨one simple skill✨ you could teach your child this week? In the kitchen? In social situations? In solving problems? Your few committed minutes will last a lifetime for your child—and they will thank you someday.🤍

If you haven’t heard of or downloaded this app yet, you definitely want to!!! The music section is such a powerful tool for helping kids understand who they are and that God loves them. It’s also an amazing reading tool as they can sing and read along. I have so many favorite songs in the Children’s Songbook, but I think my favorite is I Know That My Savior Loves Me ❤️

This is Brock, our oldest son. Yesterday we had the privilege of being in the house of the Lord with him and others we love as he made covenants with God. I am so thankful for those covenants in my life, and happy he chose them for himself. Tonight he will be set apart as a missionary, and next week he will leave for 2 years to help others and to teach of Jesus Christ. I will miss him!!! But as sad as I am to say goodbye, I couldn’t be happier about his choices

“Tell me a story” is a frequent request from children. While fictional stories and fairytales can be fun to share, consider instead telling your children stories that show faith in Jesus Christ and stories that connect them to their noble ancestors. Years ago, Kristen and I decided to create our own family storybook, filled with accounts from our extended families and ancestry. We love reading from it with our family.

We invite you to create your own compilation of examples from your family history of those who acted on their faith in the Savior, in His leaders, and in the principles of His gospel. You might pull stories from talks or family histories, or even just stories you heard growing up. Document them, and share them. Doing so can help you and your family turn your hearts to your ancestors.
