A big shoutout to Jon Girod for his incredible commitment to Vancouver Public Schools students!

Jon's vision and dedication have helped expand skilled trades pathways for Vancouver Public Schools students, creating more opportunities for young people to explore rewarding, hands-on careers.

As the owner of Quail Homes, Jon also founded Careers in Construction Northwest, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting students with meaningful pathways into the skilled trades.

We're especially grateful for Careers in Construction Northwest's partnership with our Toolbox Program, helping inspire the next generation through hands-on learning and mentorship.

Thank you, Jon, for investing in our students and helping build brighter futuresโ€”one toolbox at a time. ๐Ÿ”จ

Great news! ๐ŸŽ‰ The Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools has received support from the OnPoint Community Credit Union Foundation for the Rising Educators program.

Rising Educators helps first-generation and bilingual VPS graduates pursue careers in education, with a focus on dual language and special education. Participants work in Vancouver Public Schools as substitute paraeducators while continuing their journey to become licensed teachers.

This funding will help provide mentorship, tuition assistance, stipends, and transportation support for scholars in the program.
