This is what the spadix of the spadix looks after cutting it down. The spadix is the tall part of the inflorescence 😀It looks like cotton candy!

Titan has finished its flourish for the year! Thank you Brenda Alling and Maureen Reese Keller for sticking with me all day on Sunday. We haven’t had a weekend bloom before and most of us were on vacation right up until the bloom. It was crazy timing!

What's Happening in the Garden?
So far harvest this year exceeds 57 ton (114,000 pounds). GOOD JOB VOLUNTEERS . . . but we still need you!
Now that fall is here, it's cleanup time and we need your energy to complete the Garden process.
There are still carrots in the field but we are waiting for them to mature . . .need some sunshine. ☀
CIP volunteers - When you arrive, sign in on CIP's Volunteer Service Log clipboard.
Plan to park at the entry level parking area and walk up to the Garden.
When at Heritage Farm, drive slow (10 mph). There may be people crossing the road and children not watching out for you! If you are making dust you are driving too fast.
See you in the Garden . . .
