Another great session this summer!

06/01/2025

It’s the season for disc golf and lessons. I will be offering lessons all summer.

Started the season off with a great student who added 75ft to his max distance after only 2 sessions! Went from 225ft to the 300ft club!

Come join me out in the field!

Nice break in the rain. Got some lessons before his upcoming tournament events. Worked on the stagger step and gained a lot more consistency!

We are going to focus more on putting in the next session.

Now it’s time to smash the chains! ⛓️

Another fun session. He’s a player from Vancouver BC. I showed him how we throw in northwest Vancouver

He has a large wingspan to use as an advantage. We worked on smaller reach backs to get the movement down and he was already throwing over 300ft.

Enjoy the local courses while you are visiting the northwest!

After the third lesson this month everything came together with some beautiful, effortless shots that look natural!

Big improvements on shifting the body weight, reach back and head placement.

Each body type throws different and you have to adjust to what fits you.

Great session with a great student. He took the feedback and made it happen!

I found out we have played with a lot of the same friends.

Just another beautiful day in the field.

Hyzer consistency was the focus.

Second round of lessons included:

Using the upper body to control the hyzer angle.

Prevent late release

Staggered final step to get the hip to generate some more power.

Had his longest throws since we started.

Going to be a great season for practice and improvements!!

Disc golf season is here! Come get some lessons to add 50ft to your drive!

Yesterday we worked on the wrist and forearm. Timing the head to follow the shoulder rather than lead with the head.

Great progress and second session will be in a week.

“I need a second round of lessons to fix these bad habits while I still can.”
-Student

Luckily, the rain held off for us for a beautiful day in the field.

Focused on:
Giving the disc enough room to get pulled through the power pocket, rather than just towards it.

Shifting your center of balance through the run-up to finish leaning into your lead shoulder.

How to perform the stagger step without rounding your shoulders and hips.

Get some used discs from Disc Golf Depot and we can put them to the test out here!
