This term’s Spanish Book Club is reading Gótico, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and we have our biggest group yet! TEN of our Spanish Study members are cramming into the Spanish Study with Spanish instructor Shane every other Wednesday to discuss their reading 📖

I think it’s safe to say that if Spanish Book Club grows any more we will need to split it into 2 sections in future terms; this is only the third term we’ve offered book club drop-ins and it’s already quite overflowing!

Guess what? Fall term bingo is back!! Earn Sepia swag and prizes as you clear rows between our birthday party on Wednesday and our holiday party in December :)

Some of these squares are the same as last year (so if you played then you get a head start!) and some of them are new! Just like last year, all players are entered to win a one month membership to the Language Study of their choice (current members included, they will simply skip one payment) 🥳🎉 our winner will be announced at the end of the holiday party (but you do not need to be present at the party to win)

Pick up a bingo card at reception starting this Wednesday, or any time throughout fall term ✨

Join us in wishing a very happy balloon day to Toni Pnw !!! Toni has been studying Spanish with us for exactly ONE YEAR today, and we are so proud of the progress she has made!!

Toni has successfully completed year one of her 3-year Spanish Study certificate, and will venture into our intermediate classes later this week! 🎈🥳🎉

HAPPY BALLOON DAY, STERLING!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Today marks THREE YEARS since Sterling began studying French here at Sepia 🎉

Sterling is one of the students that has been here the longest, and he has been with us since well before we started celebrating balloon days (the anniversary of becoming a member) so we owe him about 3x the gifts and hoopla of a typical balloon day when we see him next 🎈🥳

If you see Sterling around the school, make sure you join us in wishing him an extra special balloon day!! And you can always leave goodies or messages for us to pass to other students for their balloon days at reception if you’d like 🥰

Super excited to officially be partnering with the The Kiggins Theatre to show Coco (in Spanish!) this October 🇲🇽🥳 The movie will be subtitled in English and open to the public, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Sepia Language Study scholarship fund.

Tickets are available to purchase at The Kiggins Theatre ✨ This event directly benefits world language education in our community. We hope to see you there!!

“Sobremesa” is a fun, somewhat untranslatable Spanish word that refers to the social event of lingering and chatting after a meal. Our Sobremesa drop-in simulates just that: snacks and good company, all in Spanish 🥰 thanks for coming by today, and if you missed it, we have one more Sobremesa this term (next Wednesday!!)
