Too many colors? I think not. I need a bigger design wall.

More improv piecing fun! This is really addictive. Should we workshop this? On that note, I want to explain why there haven’t been any classes lately. I have a full time job and have been feeling very burnt out on teaching and even just keeping up with emails. Some changes are coming soon! Classes are coming! Stay tuned please, we want to create and support community here.

Thanks to and for this magical event yesterday! I loved seeing everybody’s indigo experiments and just being with all these wonderful and creative humans. is such an amazing maker space. I would absolutely rent studio space here if I lived in Portland. These community art spaces are so important. Thanks for creating this valuable resource!

I love this fabric! I wanted to make something simple to show off this incredible dye. This is the by without the belt. I lengthened it to use all the fabric so it’s a short dress/ tunic thing now. If I wear the belt then I need pants and I’m not wearing any today! Thanks for the fabric!

Sunday’s work in progress

I loved this jumpsuit when I made it last year but the bell bottoms were so impractical. (Swipe to see the original.) I never wore it outside of a frocktails meetup so I decided to take 6 inches out of each leg. Now I wear it all the time. There was a bee following me around convinced that I had flowers growing on me! I do think the original leg width looks amazing but practicality wins this time. I’m definitely going to use this vintage pattern simplicity again, maybe with denim. It’s a good one!

More bibs! It’s really all I want to wear. These are the McCall’s with the front pocket. So comfy! I guess I’m all about the toddler wear.

I made some out of some thrifted pillow ticking. I made the version with the zipper closure. I always get so many compliments when I wear any of my burnside bibs- they are so cute and comfy! Not to mention the stellar instructions. I’d really love to teach this as a class- who’s up for that?

Make secret pajamas! Or not so secret pajamas! Sewing pajamas class starts March 23rd. This is the pajamas top lengthened into a shirt dress, sewn by . I’m totally inspired by this idea. Come make pajamas (pants included) or make a sleep shirt and shorts. Five sessions, Wednesday evenings. Weekend classes coming soon!
