Sharks!

Many of you may know that we end every assembly by singing a very special Sunset song! This song has been part of the Sunset tradition for many, many years, and our Sharks look forward to singing it together at the end of each assembly.

There’s something pretty special about hearing our entire school come together and sing a song that generations of Sharks have enjoyed.

Enjoy this special Sunset tradition! ❤️🦈

Dear Sunset Families,

I am writing to address recent information circulating regarding potential school closures within our district. I know rumors can cause concern, so I want to provide clarity on where things stand and how you can stay involved.

What You Need to Know:

No decisions have been made. The district committee is currently evaluating several potential future scenarios.

Sunset is one of multiple schools being reviewed. Right now, the committee is examining a scenario that includes Sunset, but subsequent scenarios will focus on other schools across the district.

The committee is advisory only. They will present recommendations to the district, but they do not make final decisions.

There is a Community Information Session on Monday, October 5th. Your voice matters, and we would love to have strong representation from our school.

Here are the details:

Location: Wy'East Middle School
Date: Monday, October 5th
Session 1: 6:00 PM
Session 2: 7:00 PM

I will be attending these community sessions, and I encourage as many of our families as possible to join me. Having our community present shows how much our school means to our students and families.

Our commitment to your children this school year is not changing. Please know that our focus remains right here, right now. This school year, the entire Sunset staff and I remain deeply committed to supporting each student with focus, diligence, and care every single day.

We are Sunset, and we are proud to be part of this amazing community. Our staff members show their dedication to your children every day, and I am honored to work alongside them.

Thank you for your partnership, support, and dedication to our school. Go Sharks!

Warmly,
Laura Buno
Sunset Principal

Each month, Sunset focuses on an important Life Skill that helps us grow as students, friends, and members of our school community. September’s Life Skill was Respect—learning to value ourselves, others, our classroom, and our school. The artwork featured was created by our talented 5th graders to represent what respect means to them! ❤️🦈
