The VHS choir participated in the state UIL solo and ensemble contest yesterday at Hendrickson HS! We brought home six gold medals, nine silver, and two bronze!! Make sure to congratulate these students when you next see them!🎉

Also- we’ve had other events that haven’t had a post made for them so I’d like to recap on those. Firstly, we performed our spring concert which was themed with music by The Beatles! We had an amazing turnout and are so thankful to everyone who could make it. Then we participated in the Rose City Music Festival where we placed first division!! In this festival we sang our three concert pieces in preparation for concert and sight reading UIL next year. Lastly, we had our end of year barbecue with both VJH and VHS! This year has been so amazing and everyone has grown so much as singers. If you see Mr. Rice, make sure to thank him for all he does for our program. 🤍

Congratulations to the students who performed at the solo and ensemble contest today! We had 20 students get a 1C, which means they will be attending the state contest in May! Keep up the good work guys!! 🎶🤍

Last week, the VHS choir performed a few Christmas songs for Van United Methodist Churches fine arts club! We would like to thank them so much for giving us a place to perform and making us food. The students in participation are as follows:
Soprano- Ivy Hammon, Maloree Donica, Reese Moffatt, Madi Lipp, Amber Salazar, Ivy Webb, Raquel Freitas
Alto- Payton Mckinney, Cadie Jennings, Laynee Rhoan, Isabella Garcia, Nice Junsian, Megan Mayne, Beverly Bryant
Tenor- Townes Hamman, Eli Aaron, Oliver Stowe, Zachary Nichols, Tristian Jenkins
Bass- Ben Honea, Cesar Rodriguez, Zaine Little, Chester Clayton
