🌿🔬 Taking Science Outside the Classroom! 🔬🌿

Our 4th and 5th grade science teachers spent the day at the Tyler Nature Center attending an Open-Air Inquiry Workshop and learning new, fun, and engaging ways to bring science learning outdoors! ☀️🌳

They got to be the students for the day and jumped into some hands-on learning of their own! They created miniature ecosystems in mason jars 🌱, explored ways to use the outdoors as a science classroom, and even made their own Ricky the Rock 🪨 after learning how to integrate reading and literacy into science instruction.

They came back with lots of new ideas, hands-on activities, and inspiration that they can’t wait to bring to their 4th and 5th grade scientists! 🧪

🧹❤️Happy Custodian Appreciation Day! ❤️🧹

October 2nd is School Custodian Appreciation Day, but since we’ll be on Fall Break, the VMS staff decided to celebrate a little early and surprise our amazing custodians!

Every teacher and staff member helped put together a special basket for our four wonderful custodians — Mrs. Laura, Mrs. Liliana, Ms. Marcela, and Ms. Ana!

These ladies are usually some of the first ones on campus each morning, working hard to make sure our school is clean, welcoming, and ready for our students and staff. They do so much behind the scenes, and we truly appreciate all the hard work, care, and love they put into VMS each day.

We are so thankful for each of you and everything you do for our VMS family! Our campus wouldn't be the same without you. ❤️

Thank you for taking such great care of our school and for always helping make VMS a place we are proud to call home!

We appreciate you more than you know! 🧹✨❤️

📚 Parents, just a reminder!

Today is a full day of learning at VMS, so there is NO early release today. 😊

We’ll see everyone at regular dismissal time!
