Big shout out to Addilyn Everitt who has been working hard to memorize all 5 paragraphs of the FFA Creed! Today she went down to Deen Kubota Tractor in Wills Point to recite it for their store manager and in return Kubota is awarding her with her very own FFA Jacket! Partnerships between companies like Kubota and local FFA chapters like ours help make students successful. Thank you Deen Kubota!

🌸 Learning Floral Design… but make it FUN! 🌸

Our Intro to Floral Design students have been getting hands-on with their learning!

🌼 Flower Pens: After learning the proper techniques for using floral tape, students put their new skills to work by creating their own flower pens! It was a fun way to practice taping, wrapping, and creating while making something they could actually use. ✏️🌸

🎨 Edible Color Wheels: We’ve also been learning about the elements of floral design, including COLOR! Students started with just the three primary colors and mixed their own icing to create a color wheel on cookies. They had to experiment, mix, and see firsthand how primary colors can create secondary colors & tertiary colors.

And the best part? They got to eat their color wheels when they were finished! 🍪

Who says learning floral design can’t be sweet?! 🌷💐

🌶️This past week, our Food Technology Practicum students brought the heat and started the year off strong by demonstrating knife safety skills to the students in our intro to food science class! They taught students how to safely chop peppers, onions, and cilantro using the knife safety rules they learned in class!

🫑After demonstrating, Boston and Langston used their chopped ingredients in smoked queso, a recipe they created themselves!
