Today, we're highlighting Mr. Chris Miles, Construction Equipment Technology (CET) instructor at Vantage Career Center!

Mr. Miles joined the Vantage team in 2019, bringing years of hands-on industry experience from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Throughout his career, he held several positions, including Maintenance Worker, Highway Technician, and District Equipment Training Officer, gaining valuable experience in highway maintenance, snow plowing, and equipment operations.

A graduate of Ayersville High School, Mr. Miles was inspired to become an instructor because he wanted to share his industry knowledge with the next generation. His goal is to teach students how to safely operate heavy equipment while preparing them with the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce after graduation.

For Mr. Miles, SAFETY is the most important lesson he hopes students carry with them beyond Vantage. His favorite part of teaching? Those "aha!" moments when students finally understand not just how to do something, but why they're doing it. Seeing everything click makes the job rewarding!

When he's not in the CET lab, you'll likely find Mr. Miles enjoying the outdoors, taking his Jeep out on the sand dunes, or riding his Harley-Davidson! 🏍️

👏 Thank you, Mr. Miles, for sharing your real-world experience, emphasizing safety, and helping prepare the next generation of skilled equipment operators!
