Van Buren Freshman Academy

Today we finished up our 8th and final camp date. We’ve had a lot of fun, made good progress, and enjoyed bonding. Now for a well deserved break! We’re looking forward to basketball season! 💚🐾🏀

We hope everyone is having an incredible summer break!

Back in May, we challenged our staff to participate in . Each staff member received a Freshman Academy rubber duck and was encouraged to take it along on their summer adventures. After snapping a photo, they leave the duck behind for the next person to discover and enjoy.

So far, our ducks have traveled to Washington, D.C., Orlando, Florida, and even London, England, just to name a few destinations!

If you happen to spot one of our ducks out in the wild, be sure to snap a picture and help us track its journey. We can't wait to see where these little travelers end up next!

A HUGE thank you to our VBSD custodial team! While students and staff are enjoying a well-earned summer break, they’re putting in the work to make sure VBFA is ready to go on Day 1. I mean, look how incredible those floors look!

Today, Dr. Reeves and Mrs. Rogers had the opportunity to present at the Jostens Renaissance Conference and share the culture, systems, and procedures that make the Freshman Academy such a special place.

One of the things we talk about often is that culture doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentional attention every single day. From celebrating growth and building relationships to creating meaningful experiences for students, every detail matters.

The truth is, we have a great school because we have great people. The best students. The best families. The best staff. Today was an opportunity to share that story and showcase the incredible things happening at the Freshman Academy.

We are proud to represent Van Buren and grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside and share with educators from across the country.
