Today we’re proud to welcome the United Way of Fort Smith’s annual Touch A Truck event to Van Buren High School.

From emergency vehicles and construction equipment to community partners from across the region, this free event gives children the opportunity to learn, explore, and experience hands-on fun!

Touch A Truck takes place today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a sensory-sensitive hour from 9-10 a.m. We hope to see you there!

Free Summer Meals begin Monday, June 1! ☀️

VBSD Child Nutrition will provide free meals for all children ages 18 and under throughout June. Families can choose from on-site meal locations or convenient grab-and-go/weekly meal pick-up options.

As summer officially gets underway and we head into the long weekend, we hope our Pointer Family enjoys a little extra time to slow down, recharge, and make memories together. ☀️💚

As we finish out these last few days, here’s a look ahead at the 2026-2027 school year calendar. We’re thankful for a great year and already excited to welcome everyone back again this fall. 🐾

The final two inclement weather make-up days for the 2025-2026 school year are May 21 and May 22.

The last day of school for students is Friday, May 22.

Due to the weather, our Coffee Car Line has been rescheduled to NEXT Friday, May 1st from 7–8 AM during drop-off.
