Our students have been busy learning and having fun with Mrs. McEntire and Mrs. Charlye!

Recently, they made individual pizzas 🍕 and created their own custom snack mix/trail mix 🥨 all while practicing independence and everyday life skills!

🍕 GAME ON, VAN BUREN ELEMENTARY! 🍕
It is time to clear out those pantries for a great cause! The Carter County Food Pantry Food Drive is officially here running from October 5th to October 30th.
We are collecting all cans and non-perishables (think pasta, cereal, peanut butter, tuna, and canned veggies).
Which classroom is going to bring the most donations and take home the PIZZA PARTY? 🏆 Let the friendly competition begin!

🧺🫧 IT’S LAUNDRY SOAP TIME! 🫧🧺
The Van Buren Junior Class is kicking off our Laundry Soap Fundraiser to help raise money for Prom! 💃🕺
We have laundry soap, fabric softener, scented beads, dishwasher pods, Dawn dish soap, and more! This is a great chance to stock up on products you already use while supporting our students at the same time.
📅 Orders and money are due November 2nd!
To order, contact any Junior Class member, or you can Venmo me at -Allen-682. If using Venmo, please include your name and phone number so I can make sure your order is taken care of.

Van Buren Junior High has recognized Kole Barnes as the 8th grade Student of the Month for September. Kole is the son of Jackie Barnes and Brian Barnes. Here are a few of the great things Kole’s teachers had to say about him:

Kole consistently completes his work timely and accurately and participates in class discussions. His quick wit and positive personality always lightens the mood in our class! Great job, Kole!

Kole is a wonderful learner. He asks great questions and stays focused. Kole comes into my class prepared and with a great attitude! Great job Kole!
Kole is a very hard worker! I’ve watched him push himself to learn harder topics! He always participates in class and takes pride in his work!

Van Buren Junior High has recognized Laykin Dazey as the 7th grade Student of the Month for September. Laykin is the daughter of Haley Martin and Nathan Dazey. Here are a few of the great things Laykin’s teachers had to say about her:

Laykin is always prepared for class, working hard, and participating in class lessons. She is always demonstrating kindness and respect towards her teachers and classmates and sets a positive example for them. Awesome job, Laykin!

Laykin is a wonderful student! She always gives her best efforts while having a great attitude. I have watched Laykin be a wonderful friend and come into class prepared to learn with a smile on her face every day!

Laykin is so much fun to have in class! She’s eager to learn and is always willing to help her classmates.
