Spring is understandably such an uplifting time for many. It reminds us that everything changes, evolves, and grows. Nothing is permanent. Even that yucky winter we were SURE was going to last forever. Grateful to see leaves beginning to grow today. 🍃🐦

When we look at love as a practice, and not just a feeling, we view it in a completely different way. For years, I've had to be mindful in my practice of empathetic joy, realizing others' successes aren't my failure- there's enough praise to go around! 💕

When we practice self-love, we also learn to better love others. Self-love isn't about "loving" every part of us, all the time, but fully accepting ourselves, flaws and all.

And it is a practice- this doesn't come naturally to us. We're wired to be self-critical. Practicing loving-kindness begins to re-wire our brains too see ourselves in a new way.

You can expand the practice to wish others well- benefactors, loved ones, those you feel neutral towards, even those you have aversion to.

In honor of Valentine's Day, all week I'll be putting a mindfulness "spin" on love ❤️ it all starts with self-love, but if that's too much a stretch to start, consider accepting your fully authentic self, flaws and all, a little more. Notice how this affects how you see others. 🙏
