Surf Internet will be providing free Wi-Fi access to the Portage, Indiana community beginning today, and continuing until further notice. Our trailer will be located at the Portage Police Department.

Residents are welcome to stop by to use the service and access the connectivity they need. We’re proud to support the community during this time, and our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted.

Good afternoon CTE Staff, students and families-

We appreciate your patience as we all navigate the aftermath of the recent storms. First and foremost we hope that all of you and your families are safe. We do recognize that many of our CTE families, our partner districts and their communities have been affected in many ways.

We know that everyone was anticipating the start of a wonderful school year and that has been delayed. While we continue to monitor communities and the damages, outages and needs of our CTE sites, we wanted to provide you with an update for Thursday, August 13th.

At present, the following schools will be closed Thursday:
Wheeler HS
Hobart HS
Portage HS
Valpo HS
Porter County Career Center
VALE
TJMS
SELF
Sunset Hill Farm

Additionally, Hobart and Portage will be closed on Friday, August 14th.

Programs that are housed at the following locations will still be in session tomorrow:
Hebron
Boone Grove
Morgan Twp
MAAC

While we know many districts have cancelled for tomorrow, IF it is safe for yu to attend and you drive, you are welcome to attend classes at those locations tomorrow.

We will continue to communicate with you as we get more information. Please stay safe.
