Today, we're sharing an assortment of pictures from across a span of years (judging by the clothing) that show, for those that know what the school looks like now, how much it has changed in its 40+ year history.
Some photos have descriptions to help you place them, plus a few have comparisons with what the building looks like today.

We've been sharing items connected to the old Jackson School, so we thought we might dive into that history a little more.
The old Jackson Township School was built in 1929 with additions/renovations in 1941 and 1965, per the plaques in our entryway. The current Jackson Elementary School opened in 1984 with major renovations completed in 2024.
The pictures collected here document that transition. More details are included with each item.

We're moving even further back into Jackson's past. Here we have the 1969 Jacksonian yearbook. Legally, the various township schools in Liberty, Jackson, Westchester, and parts of Pine consolidated to become the Duneland School Corporation on January 1st, 1969, thus this being the last class to graduate the old Jackson School.

Let's take a look at life in Old Jackson. We found these photos in a box. Based on what little writing there is, this would appear to the 1978-1979 school year. Perhaps you recognize yourself or a friend from all those years ago?

Thank you to the Jackson PTO for bringing Matt Wilhelm to speak with the students and show off his tricks!
