For 30 years, the women of Valparaiso University Pi Beta Phi have embodied service, leadership, and generosity at Hilltop Neighborhood House. Their steady commitment to Hilltop’s Annual Soups event has raised thousands of dollars in childcare scholarships—support that keeps families on their feet and thriving. This decade-spanning impact is more than a donation; it’s a lifeline that enables families to pursue work, school, and stability with less worry.

Today, we celebrate not only that legacy but ongoing collaboration: with the Little Free Library installed at Hilltop's 601 Freeman St. corner as part of the Champions Are Readers Program. The library, stocked with gently used children’s books and featuring a QR code for requests and sharing, stands as a symbol of literacy, access, and community connection. Thank you to the Pi Beta Phi sisters. ❤️📚

Great job, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Valparaiso University!

We’re celebrating nearly 30 years of friendship between the Sigma Phi Epsilon, Valparaiso University brothers at Valparaiso University and the Hilltop Neighborhood House. For decades, these incredible Hilltop Heroes have stood as steadfast neighbors—catty-corner to our garden and community space—rolling up their sleeves to paint, rake, build, and beautify. From yard work and playground construction to pantry support and seasonal crafts, their generosity knows no bounds, and they’ve brightened our days with steady kindness year-round. Hilltop presented their entire chapter with hoodies in their colors to thank them for 30 years of service.

A long-standing tradition of service has defined our relationship: shared meals, collaborative projects, and ongoing hands-on involvement that strengthens our community every day. Since the late 1990s, Hilltop Neighborhood House and the Sig Eps have cultivated a deep, mutually supportive partnership—helping with projects, sharing resources, and delivering meaningful impact. Their commitment has built a lasting legacy of service and friendship that continues to inspire us all.
