A 16-varsity-letter athlete across four sports, Shawn Ryan (Class of 1990) stands as one of the most dominant competitors in Hebron history, earning seven PCC All-Conference selections and a PCC Most Valuable Player award.
On the baseball diamond, Ryan became one of only seven players in PCC history to earn All-Conference honors all four years, highlighted by a PCC MVP nod as a junior and a single-game record 20 strikeouts as a freshman. He set school records with 391 career strikeouts, finished 2nd in innings pitched (234), and logged 21 wins alongside a no-hitter. At the plate, he batted .382 with 109 hits, 7 home runs, and 62 stolen bases (2nd in school history).
On the basketball court, Ryan scored 1,194 career points (10th all-time), becoming Hebron's 9th 1,000-point scorer. A three-time All-Conference selection, he averaged 19.6 points per game as a senior to lead Hebron to the 1990 Sectional Championship. He remains near the top of the record books in 3-point percentage (.409, 2nd) and free-throw accuracy (.826, 3rd).
Rounding out his historic multi-sport career, Ryan was a key contributor on the 1988 Semi-State qualifying cross country team and a star on the track, where he posted 31 career 1st-place finishes, cleared 20’ 8” in the long jump (11th all-time), and previously held school records in both the 400 and 800 relays.
