Valparaiso SRO’s are certified D.A.R.E. instructors and have advanced training certifications through the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). SRO’s deliver the D.A.R.E. program to Valparaiso Community Schools, St Paul Catholic School, and Immanuel Lutheran School. program is funded through donations provided by local community partners and families. Students in elementary and middle school participate with SRO’s in discussions about decision making, safety, bullying, cyber safety/cyber bullying, risks and consequences, peer pressure, communication, resistance strategies, managing stress, and the health effects of drugs and alcohol. The goals of this program are to reduce crime and drug use and help encourage and recognize the positive efforts of our youth. We strive to build lasting trust and healthy relationships to ensure a safer community through education. Join us in our efforts to keep Valparaiso crime and drug free!
