Schedules are out! And we are one day closer to the beginning of the school year. Please know that Mrs. O’Dell is cleaning up some loose ends at this point, and we are working through those as fast as we can. If there is something missing from your schedule or a conflict, please feel free to connect with Mrs. O’Dell. However, if you are simply looking to switch out a class, please hold on to your request until Monday to provide a few more days to finish any pressing needs.

We know attendance can feel confusing, and we want to help make it easier to understand.

Indiana law (SEA 282) now requires all absences—including excused ones—to be counted in a student’s overall attendance record. But don’t worry: East Porter is committed to partnering with families early to support strong attendance habits.

Last week a group of Morgan student-athletes were able to attend IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc.) Student Leadership Conference thanks to the grant awarded to Morgan Athletics by the IHSAA Foundation. Zac, Addie, and Saffy represented the following IHSAA sports: boys and girls basketball, boys soccer, boys volleyball, boys track, girls track. The event was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the day was full of educational activities - three tremendously impactful speakers, an opportunity to learn about safe driving through the Rule the Road program, and a very cool bus tour of the Indy 500 race track.
