A seat at the table! 💼

Last week, our student leaders sat down with the National Council alumni board for an open conversation about where the CoB is heading, what’s working, and what’s next. At the end of the day, everything we do starts with the student experience - and we're excited for what the future has in store! 👀

Huge thank you to our board members for dropping in, connecting with students, and keeping our community growing forward! 🤎💛

From coach to classmate.

After decades of guiding student-athletes, former Valpo Tennis Head Coach Bob Modesto ’26 MBA stepped into a new role at Valpo: graduate student.

Pursuing his MBA through the College of Business gave Bob a new perspective on the challenges his student-athletes face balancing academics, athletics, and life, while strengthening his own approach to leadership and mentorship.

“A big part of what makes Valpo great is the professors. The professors here can be described in two words: they care.”

As Bob closes out more than three decades of coaching, his journey is a reminder that learning and growth never stop.

Valpo College of Business students are taking learning beyond the classroom!

Colby Kachurik, Adrian Huizar, Gracie Jania, Robbie Spang, and Mihailo Radunovic recently attended the One Region Luncheon alongside College of Business Dean Matthew Luth and Valparaiso University President Brian Konkol.

The luncheon gave students the opportunity to connect with professionals, engage with the Northwest Indiana business community, and build valuable relationships beyond campus.

Experiences like these are just one of the many ways the College of Business helps students grow personally and professionally.

Over $1 million and growing! 📈💛

Valpo’s student-run Beacon Fund has reached an exciting milestone, growing 27% in 2025 from $804,247 to $1,022,269, outperforming the S&P 500 by 9.2%!

Through the College of Business Portfolio Practicum, students get hands-on experience researching companies, analyzing industries, making investment recommendations, and working with a real investment fund.

It’s more than learning about finance in the classroom. It’s about putting knowledge into action, building leadership skills, and making decisions grounded in Valpo’s commitment to ethical business.

We’re proud of the students who are putting their education to work and making an impact. 💛
