Valliant FFA

Valliant FFA FFA is an intercurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of three components of agricultural education.

The official name of the organization is National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the

name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture. Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.

State Convention 2024 is a wrap! Started on Monday with a fun trip to Main Event to ending last night with the celebration of 7 State FFA Degree Recipient’s. Lots of session’s in between with Chapter Trust Recognition, Masters of Beef Advocacy awards, and State Chorus member performing at several sessions. Talent on the career show stage, voting on state officers and serving as part of courtesy corps were also packed into the two day agenda. Oh and I forgot what the kids really enjoy…the concert by this year’s performer and former FFA member Wyatt Flores. Thanks goes out to all of those who help put on a great event for these students. We also would like to send a special thanks to the many local supporters who generously support this organization financially through fundraising efforts. Without those dollars these students would not get to have some of these life changing experiences!

Late post, but better late than never! We say goodbye to a group of seniors who have had a decorated career in our shooting sports program. After qualifying for the State Trap Championship on April 17th they performed well by shooting the best they have all season with a 206. However it was too many targets to overcome and advance to second round.
