B.H. Shawmut Pre-K

B.H. Shawmut Pre-K B.H. Shawmut Pre-K is part of the Chambers County School System and is funded through the Office of School Readiness in Alabama.

Each school year, 18 children are randomly selected to attend Pre-K at Shawmut through a lottery drawing. Applications are available each spring at all Chambers County schools, as well as on the Chambers County Schools website. Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1.

Parents,
This map should help explain how Pre-K drop-off and pick-up will work. Looking at this map, turn in on 23rd Drive (or currently 24th Avenue due to roadwork) and follow the highlighted line to Shawmut Elementary. You will park against the curb and walk up to the doors (with your hangtag) to get your child. Traffic will flow one way during pick-up and drop-off.

FIELD DAY (Wednesday):

We will begin at 8:30 in the morning. We will start our day at the inflatables. Make sure your child is wearing comfortable tennis shoes. We will end at 10:30. The students and teachers will come inside to use the restroom and wash hands. No parents will be allowed inside with us at this time. We will gather our lunch and meet parents on the back playground around 11:30. We will eat lunch and have popsicles. You may bring lunch from home or a fast food place. Come bring a blanket, towel or chairs to enjoy the end of the year picnic with your child.

Please remember this is only for those student leaving Pre-K and heading into Kindergarten.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will be having water play! We will have a water slide AND get to play in water from a fire truck! Please send your child a bathing suit and a towel in a grocery sack. If you want to send your boy to school in his swimming trunks, please make sure to send a clean pair of shorts for him to change into after water play.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND ITEMS IN A GROCERY SACK LABELED WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME. MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD'S NAME IS ALSO ON HIS/HER TOWEL.

**PLEASE PUT SUNSCREEN ON YOUR CHILD AT HOME TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE COMING TO SCHOOL!!**
