Calaveras Unified School District CUSD is the largest school district in Calaveras County, serving almost 3,000 preK-12 students. We appreciate your attention to these guidelines.

🍎Retiree Recognition
The Board proudly recognized this year’s CUSD retirees for their many years of dedication, service, and commitment to our students, staff, and community.
We thank each retiree for the countless hours, care, and passion they have given to Calaveras Unified and wish them all the best in their retirement.

🍎CUSD Receives JPA Safety Award
CUSD was recognized with the JPA Safety Award for the district’s continued efforts and commitment to maintaining safe schools and workplaces for students and staff. This recognition reflects the ongoing work happening across all district sites to prioritize safety, training, and risk prevention.

🍎Developer Fee Study Presentation
The Board received a presentation regarding the updated Developer Fee Study for the district.

· Residential developer fees are projected to increase from $5.17 to $5.38 per square foot beginning in 2026.
· Commercial developer fees are projected to increase from $0.84 to $0.87 per square foot.
· These fees are allowable funds collected from new construction projects to help support school facility impacts related to growth.
· Approximately 190 new homes are projected to be built within the district area over the next five years.
· CUSD is projected to receive approximately $392,000 in developer fee revenue during the 2026–2027 school year.

🍎School Bond Information Review
The Board continued discussions regarding a possible future school bond and reviewed additional informational materials related to district facility needs and long-term planning.

· A potential bond could help address aging facilities, campus improvements, safety upgrades, and modernization projects throughout the district.
· The district may be eligible for approximately $20 million in potential state matching funds if a local bond measure is approved.
· Community outreach and informational meetings are continuing to help gather feedback and answer questions from families and community members
