Last week we read My Garden by Kevin Henkes, where a little girl dreams up a magical, whimsical garden filled with everything she loves most.

When I asked our students what they would plant if their garden could grow anything in the world, their answers were wonderfully imaginative—everything from video games and money to makeup and high heels!

We talked about how the things we would choose to plant are the things that are special, unique, and important to us.

This year, our elementary theme is all about growing and blooming, and we view our students as our very own garden. To remind each child how special, unique, loved, and wanted they are, they have brought home a little succulent of their own.

We hope it brings a smile to your home and serves as a little reminder of how much they mean to us!
