At the August 27 special meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the construction of a new Wall of Champions on the high school campus.

This two-sided wall will proudly honor our past team and individual state champions while providing space to celebrate the achievements of future generations. More than a lasting tribute, it will serve as a source of inspiration for our students and a symbol of pride for our entire community.

We are excited to celebrate the dedication, hard work, and excellence that continue to shape our district’s story.

Please note: The attached image is a conceptual rendering. Some elements of the completed Wall of Champions may differ from what is shown. Also, before the wall is completed, a final list of all team and individual state champions to be recognized will be reviewed and approved.

Kudos to this great group of students!

Following tonight’s football game, these students, and others who got away before the picture, saw that there was trash that needed to be picked up and jumped right in to help. What makes it even more special is that no one asked them to do it. They simply saw something that needed to be done, volunteered on their own, and went to work.

These are the moments that make us proud. It may seem like a small act, but it says a lot about character, responsibility, and taking pride in your school and community.

There are so many good things happening in Valley Mills ISD, and our great students are a big part of what makes this such a special place.

Proud of these young Eagles for doing the right thing simply because it was the right thing to do.

Every Step, Eagle Pride.

Last night, the Valley Mills ISD Board of Trustees held a Special Board Meeting and took important action as we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Board approved a balanced budget for the upcoming school year while also approving a combined M&O and I&S tax rate of $0.9127, down from $0.9278 last year.

This continues a positive trend for our taxpayers. Since 2018, the combined VMISD tax rate has decreased every year, falling from $1.4540 to $0.9127. That represents an overall decrease of approximately 37.2% during that time.

Developing a balanced budget while continuing to lower the district’s tax rate reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible financial stewardship. At the same time, our focus remains on what matters most: providing a strong educational environment where our students and staff are supported, motivated, and encouraged to grow and succeed.

We will continue working to make decisions that support our students and staff, protect the long-term financial health of the district, respect the investment our community makes in Valley Mills ISD, and provide opportunities that move our district forward.

We appreciate the continued support of our families, staff, taxpayers, and the entire Valley Mills community as we work together toward another successful school year.

Every Step, Eagle Pride.

EAGLE NATION: LET’S KEEP IT POSITIVE!

As our athletic seasons get underway, Valley Mills ISD would like to remind all parents, students, families, and fans of the important role we each play in creating a positive environment at our athletic events.

We love the passion and pride our community has for the Valley Mills Eagles, and we encourage everyone to cheer loudly and support our student-athletes. At the same time, we ask that our support always reflect good sportsmanship and represent VMISD in a positive manner.

Please remember:

* Cheer for our Eagles, not against the opposing team.
* Treat officials, coaches, players, visiting teams, and fellow spectators with respect.
* Keep comments and interactions appropriate and positive.
* Remember that our students are watching us. Let’s model the sportsmanship we expect from them.
* All spectators are expected to follow the VMISD Fan and Spectator Policy at district athletic events.

In addition to district expectations, Texas Senate Bill 2929, passed during the 2025 legislative session and applicable beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, changed state law regarding spectator behavior. Under SB 2929, a referee, judge, or other game official may eject a spectator for inappropriate behavior without first giving a verbal warning or requiring the behavior to continue after a warning.

Our goal is simple: provide a safe, welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where our student-athletes can compete, our coaches can coach, our officials can officiate, and our fans can enjoy supporting the Eagles.

Be loud. Be proud. Be positive. Cheer on the Eagles and represent Valley Mills ISD the right way!
