March 13th was the last day LGO kids were here as part of afterschool. While some of our kids have been able to be a part of Tekoa Distance Learning Academy, it is great to start welcoming back our campers. Today, we caught some crayfish and salamanders at the creek in our bamboo forest. These kids went home sprinkled with sun showers and mud, and we couldn’t be happier.

During our breaks we have been planting seeds, building towers, climbing, and disassembling old keyboards. Yep! We found some old keyboards that no longer worked, decided to discover what was inside!

Every other Friday we have a Tekoa TGIF family picnic. We invite our digital learning families to join us for an activity led by Tekoa staff and picnic and enjoy camp. Last week our families enjoyed the lake! We are so thankful for this amazing community.

These two are in the same class, so they took their P.E. to the porch. We love our P.E teachers! The specials teachers at ATK, HES, and BDS have been so creative! Thank you for all your hard work!

We love that we are able to give our learners a change of scenery. The porch of Laurel is a great spot to practice math and play!

We are so thankful for our environmental educators. Today, a young black snake came to visit us. We learned about the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes. We relocated him to some woods nearby.

We set up our room in a way that makes it easy to add new kids while keeping their spaces consistent from week to week. There are three spaces available in this picture! Registration is always open! Our kids each have their own workspace distanced from other students. They have their own markers, fidget tool, and hand sanitizer that stays at their space throughout the week. Masks are worn when they are moving throughout the room, on break, or when the Tekoa staff are helping them. We love seeing how each child chooses to decorate their boards! From comic strips about tacos to puppies, camp kids are so creative!
