What happens after graduation? One of our former club Chairs, Taylor Deschene, graduated in 2017 as a Mechanical Engineer along with his US Coast Guard's 3rd Engineer license. Right after graduation, he started work with ACCO Engineered Systems, the #1 mechanical contractor at the West Coast

Taylor is a design engineer on HVAC systems, and is responsible for examining a space/facility, calculating the thermal load(s), the conditioning needs, and then pathing the conditioning and scoping the equipment to support the system. It can be complex, and there are state and federal regulations to follow, as well as the city inspectors to satisfy, so Taylor carries a lot of responsibility.

Recent projects have been at Facebook and Salesforce--see Taylor on the top of the new Salesforce Tower in the attached images.

Taylor, along with fellow CMA grad, Sean Abbott, will be coming to campus to represent ACCO at the career fair on October 23rd. Are you a senior? Talk to them about job opportunities! Below senior status? Talk to them about internships or career advice. There is a lot of life after graduation!

Inaugural MATE Regional ROV Competition 04/14/2018

Last week we held our first MATE Regional ROV Competition, for SCOUT class ROV teams. It was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for several generations of engineers, mariners, and scientists to work together. Now is a great time to start planning to participate in the next event, in 2019, so drop us a line if your school would like to bring a team to this friendly competition!
