Mare Island Technology Academy is Vallejo's first charter school, opened in 1999. We are a public charter, and ALL students are eligible to attend - there is no tuition. Charter schools are held to high accountability standards for student achievement and financial operation. We receive funds from the same State and local sources as other public schools. MIT Academy accepts all members of its community regardless of their “category,” whatever that may be – race, s*xual preference, physical disability, documentation status, you name it.
