This week, GTA Schools Superintendent Nick Driver(center) had the opportunity to be interviewed by Griffin Academy student Zariyah Barry(far left) and Mare Island Technology Academy student Onzelo Steed (center from left) on their podcast. The students asked excellent questions, clearly benefiting from their GTA education, as well as their after school program, All Tied Up. This was all while attending the California Charter Schools Conference, a premier event dedicated to empowering and advancing student learning in charter public schools.

The conference provided our students and Superintendent with an opportunity to meet other students, teachers, board members and experts from throughout the state. We learned valuable insights into innovative educational practices and expert tips from other high performing charter schools around the state. GTA’s four schools are among the more than 1,300 charter schools in the state that collectively serve more than 750,000 students. Engaging in workshops and discussions, our students gained firsthand experience in advocacy, leadership, and the future of education.
