Face Your Fears Athletics
Face Your Fears Athletics is a Valencia Functional Fitness gym servicing the Santa Clarita Valley pr They do this not only in, but outside the box.
Face Your Fears Athletics was born out of a desire to enable a growing community of individuals that come together with common goals servicing the Santa Clarita Valley & Valencia areas. While many of these goals center around physical fitness, this community understands that there are other goals out there just waiting to be achieved. Our Gym family is one of ordinary people striving and pushing t
Welcome to Face Your Fears Athletics. We spent a lot of time and energy upgrading our facility to be the best we can offer.
Athlete Highlight: Matix
Matix came to us with a strong athletic foundation, but the goal wasn’t to start over—it was to identify the small details that would take his game to the next level.
After his initial performance assessment, we built a program around his specific needs with a focus on becoming more explosive, improving his combine numbers, and preparing for a big senior season at Hart High School.
In this session you’ll see band-resisted lateral hops, split-stance impact drops, and advanced Tidal Tank lateral hops—all designed to improve force production, deceleration, stability, and explosive change of direction.
As a two-sport athlete, Matix often came straight from practice or games, but he always showed up ready to work with a great attitude. That consistency is what separates athletes.
We’re excited to see what he accomplishes this season with all the work he’s put in, we know more is coming in the future.
Keep working.
Athlete Highlight: Zoë
Zoë is a setter who came back to us with a goal of improving her agility and vertical jump. Since then, she’s added over 2 inches to her vertical and continues to raise the bar every session.
One thing that stood out right away was her naturally high RSI score. Rather than chasing more reactivity, much of her training has focused on improving force output and force absorption through overcoming isometrics, landing mechanics, and strength work.
As a setter, reaction time and processing speed are critical. That’s where our Reactive Intelligence Wall and Blaze Pods come in. These drills challenge her ability to quickly identify information, react under pressure, change direction, and make decisions while moving—skills that transfer directly to reading the game and delivering consistent sets.
Beyond the numbers, Zoë brings incredible energy to every session. She’s one of the biggest personalities in the gym, but also one of the hardest workers. Every rep is attacked with intent, focus, and intensity. Another one of our kids that is always a pleasure to train.
Keep working.
SportsPerformance TrainFearless
Strength isn’t just about lifting weights.
Our Athlete Strength classes are built to develop the qualities that transfer to sport: force production, power, coordination, stability, and resilience.
In this session you’ll see a combination of broad jumps, core work, barbell training, and accessory movements all working together to help athletes become stronger, more explosive, and more durable.
Every exercise has a purpose. Every session builds on the last.
We’re not just trying to make athletes stronger in the weight room. We’re helping them jump higher, move more efficiently, and perform with greater confidence on the field, court, track, or diamond.
Train the system.
Train fearless.
What does a session at Face Your Fears Athletics actually sound like?
Coach Chris is mic’d up for this one, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how we coach our athletes every day.
Instruction. Encouragement. Corrections. A little banter. A lot of coaching.
Great training is more than drills and exercises. It’s helping athletes understand how to move better, perform better, and build confidence along the way.
This is athlete development.
FYFA
Summer at FYF Athletics:
Just because competition slows down doesn’t mean development has to.
Summer is one of the best opportunities for athletes to improve, and with more open schedules there are now even more opportunities to train.
NEW Summer Speed Times:
M/W/F – 9AM
Sat – 9:30AM
Current Schedule:
Strength 13+ — M–F 3:30PM
Athletics 12+ — M–F 5:30PM
Foundations 7–11 — M–Th 6:30PM
More speed. More agility. More strength. More opportunities to get better.
Athlete Highlight: Nathan 🏈
Wide Receiver Saugus High School
Nathan came in with a strong foundation but wanted to take his game to another level as a wide receiver, especially his top-end speed and reactivity.
A big focus in his training has been improving force absorption and attacking one of his weaker areas early on: quick hamstring strength. In this session, we’re using prone elevated hamstring switches to help build faster, more reactive posterior chain function.
We also utilize our Reactive Intelligence Wall and Blaze Pods to train reaction time, spatial awareness, and decision-making under movement.
Beyond the physical side, Nathan brings a great attitude and work ethic every single session, and it’s been awesome watching his development continue.
Keep working.
