Strength isn’t just about lifting weights.

Our Athlete Strength classes are built to develop the qualities that transfer to sport: force production, power, coordination, stability, and resilience.

In this session you’ll see a combination of broad jumps, core work, barbell training, and accessory movements all working together to help athletes become stronger, more explosive, and more durable.

Every exercise has a purpose. Every session builds on the last.

We’re not just trying to make athletes stronger in the weight room. We’re helping them jump higher, move more efficiently, and perform with greater confidence on the field, court, track, or diamond.

Train the system.

Train fearless.

What does a session at Face Your Fears Athletics actually sound like?

Coach Chris is mic’d up for this one, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how we coach our athletes every day.

Instruction. Encouragement. Corrections. A little banter. A lot of coaching.

Great training is more than drills and exercises. It’s helping athletes understand how to move better, perform better, and build confidence along the way.

This is athlete development.

Athlete Highlight: Nathan 🏈
Wide Receiver Saugus High School

Nathan came in with a strong foundation but wanted to take his game to another level as a wide receiver, especially his top-end speed and reactivity.

A big focus in his training has been improving force absorption and attacking one of his weaker areas early on: quick hamstring strength. In this session, we’re using prone elevated hamstring switches to help build faster, more reactive posterior chain function.

We also utilize our Reactive Intelligence Wall and Blaze Pods to train reaction time, spatial awareness, and decision-making under movement.

Beyond the physical side, Nathan brings a great attitude and work ethic every single session, and it’s been awesome watching his development continue.

Keep working.

Everyone starts somewhere.

Not confident.
Not ready.
Not where they want to be yet.

And that’s okay.

Because getting better doesn’t start with perfection —
it starts with the courage to try.

To show up.
To be uncomfortable.
To keep going.

That’s what we build here.

Face Everything. Fear Nothing.

Training Insights: Best Training Shoes
The shoe you train in matters more than you think. It affects force production, stability, and how your body handles load.
1. Running Shoes
High stack, soft base. Built for forward running — not lifting, lateral work, or plyos. That elevated heel can add stress to the ankle.
2. Turf Trainers
Our pick for training here. Enough grip for cuts and sprints, enough cushion for landings, stable enough to lift in.
3. Minimalist / Barefoot
Flat, zero drop, full ground feel. Great for advanced athletes with the foot strength to handle it.
Bottom line: A flat heel-to-toe drop supports the work instead of getting in the way of it.
Train the system. Train fearless.

Athlete Highlight: Claire 🏐

Claire is a high school outside hitter who continues to elevate her game.

She’s improved her vertical and increased her hitting velocity. All of that is coming from training that actually transfers.

For our hitting athletes, we focus on developing both the posterior and anterior fascial slings to create efficient, full-body power.
Rotational cable work. Single-arm pulling patterns. Controlled force from the ground up.

That’s how strength turns into performance.

What stands out most is her mindset.
Great energy, always asking questions, and fully invested in getting better.

Keep working.

FYFA 4/4 Speed Classes

Speed isn’t random drills.
It’s layered development.

Our Speed Class runs through 4 intentional phases following the PARISI Speed school system:

1️⃣ Activation & Prep
Footwork, ankle stiffness, fascial prep, positional awareness.
We build the foundation first.

2️⃣ Mechanics
Acceleration angles, shin position, arm action, posture, projection.
If mechanics are off, speed leaks.

3️⃣ Application
Timed sprints. Stop lines. Deceleration drills.
We apply mechanics under controlled intensity.

4️⃣ Game Application & Reactions
Live reaction work. Decision-making. Change of direction under stimulus.
Because speed in sport is never scripted.

We don’t just teach athletes to run fast in a straight line.
We teach them to control force, react, and redirect at game speed.

Train the system.
Train fearless.
