🎉 Welcome Back, NSD! 🎉

Today, Newhall School District staff came together for our annual Welcome Back Event as we kicked off the 2026–27 school year! 📚✨

Our staff were warmly welcomed by Superintendent Dr. Leticia Hernandez and our Governing Board as we celebrated the start of another exciting year together. We were also inspired by a special presentation from Christian Jackson, a former Pico Canyon Elementary student, who shared his insights on Artificial Intelligence in Schools and the exciting possibilities AI can bring to education. 🤖💡

It was a wonderful morning filled with excitement, inspiration, and anticipation for all that the new school year has in store. We are so grateful for our dedicated NSD staff and the passion they bring to our students every day. ❤️

Hoy, el personal del Distrito Escolar de Newhall se reunió para nuestro evento anual de bienvenida, ¡dando inicio al ciclo escolar 2026-27! 📚✨

Nuestro personal fue recibido calurosamente por la Superintendente, Dra. Leticia Hernández, y nuestra Junta Directiva, celebrando juntos el comienzo de otro año emocionante. También nos inspiró una presentación especial de Christian Jackson, exalumno de la Escuela Primaria Pico Canyon, quien compartió sus ideas sobre la Inteligencia Artificial en las escuelas y las emocionantes posibilidades que la IA puede brindar a la educación. 🤖💡

Fue una mañana maravillosa, llena de entusiasmo, inspiración y expectativa por todo lo que el nuevo ciclo escolar nos depara. Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestro dedicado personal del Distrito Escolar de Newhall y la pasión que transmiten a nuestros estudiantes cada día. ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to Pico Canyon Elementary student Jameson Markley for earning statewide recognition in the 2025–2026 California State PTA “I Belong!” Reflections Program!

Jameson was awarded Honorable Mention (3rd Place) in the Accessible Artist Visual Arts Division for the entire state of California—an incredible achievement! To reach this level, his artwork advanced through and won recognition at the school level, the Santa Clarita Valley Division, and the 34th District before being honored at the state level.

What an outstanding accomplishment that reflects creativity, dedication, and artistic talent. Way to go, Jameson! We are so proud of you! 👏🎨✨


🎉 ¡Felicitaciones al estudiante de la Escuela Primaria Pico Canyon, Jameson Markley, por recibir un reconocimiento a nivel estatal en el Programa Reflections “¡Yo pertenezco!” 2025–2026 de la PTA del Estado de California!

Jameson obtuvo una Mención Honorífica (3.er lugar) en la División de Artes Visuales para Artistas Accesibles para todo el estado de California, ¡un logro verdaderamente extraordinario! Para llegar a este nivel, su obra de arte fue reconocida y avanzó desde la competencia de su escuela, la División del Valle de Santa Clarita y el Distrito 34, hasta alcanzar el reconocimiento estatal.

On behalf is Superintendent Hernandez, as another outstanding school year comes to a close, I want to sincerely thank our students, families, staff, and community for their dedication and support. This year was filled with growth, achievement, and memorable experiences that reflect the hard work and perseverance of our students. Congratulations to our promoting 6th graders as they begin an exciting new chapter—we are proud of all you have accomplished and wish you continued success. Thank you to our families and community partners for your invaluable collaboration. We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another year of learning and opportunity.



En nombre de la Superintendente Hernández, al concluir otro extraordinario año escolar, quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal y comunidad por su dedicación y apoyo. Este año estuvo lleno de crecimiento, logros y experiencias memorables que reflejan el esfuerzo y la perseverancia de nuestros estudiantes.
