Measure 114 is Going Into Effect – Here’s What You Need to Know

Oregon’s 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟏𝟏𝟒 is officially moving forward, bringing some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country into effect. If you’re a law-abiding gun owner in Oregon, this WILL impact you.

🔴 Key Changes Under Measure 114:
✔️ Permit-to-Purchase Requirement ($150 fee for each gun you buy) – You must apply for a permit before purchasing a firearm, which includes fingerprinting, background checks, safety training, and approval from law enforcement. There is currently NO system in place for issuing these permits, meaning law-abiding Oregonians are effectively blocked from purchasing fi****ms indefinitely.
✔️ Ban on Magazines Over 10 Rounds – Any magazine holding more than 10 rounds is now illegal to buy, sell, or transfer in Oregon. If you have them, you can use them on your own property.
✔️ Training Requirements – The law requires a training course, but Oregon hasn’t created or approved any standardized curriculum. This means you’re required to complete a class that doesn’t even exist yet—effectively blocking your right to buy a gun.
✔️ Extended Background Check Wait Times – Firearm sales cannot be completed until background checks are fully processed—eliminating the previous 3-day waiting period exception.

⚠️ What This Means for You:
- Expect long delays and increased costs to legally purchase a firearm.
- Gun stores will struggle to keep up with new regulations, and some may stop selling fi****ms altogether.
- Your ability to defend yourself is being restricted, while criminals continue to ignore the law.

🔔 Attention, Oregon Gun Owners: Your Rights Are Under Attack! 🔔

Oregon is pushing even more gun control —and if you think your rights are safe, think again. Measure 114 has already passed, and now lawmakers are working to make it even harder to challenge and repeal.

🚨 What’s Happening?

🔴 Measure 114 (Already Passed)** – This controversial law imposes:
- Permit-to-purchase requirements (including training, without any established process or standards for training and permits, effectively creating a fi****ms sale ban (for certain fi****ms) until a process and training requirements established)
- A ban on magazines over 10 rounds.
- Extended wait times for firearm purchases due to not having a permitting process in place.

🔴 House Bill 3075 (New & Dangerous) – Makes it even harder to repeal Measure 114, raises permit fees, extends processing times, and exempts applicant info from public records. Worst of all, it allows Oregon to declare a "state of emergency" related to fi****ms, giving the state more power to restrict gun rights without a public vote.

🔴 Senate Bill 697 – Would ban individuals under 21 from possessing certain fi****ms, with limited exceptions.

🔴 Senate Bill 429 – Introduces a mandatory 72-hour waiting period for all firearm purchases.

⚠️ Why This Matters:
- Measure 114 has already passed, and these new bills will make it even worse.
- If HB 3075 passes, Oregon could restrict gun rights through emergency orders—without input from voters.
- Every extra fee, delay, restriction, and "permit requirement" is designed to make legal firearm ownership harder.

✅ Call Your Representatives – They must hear from you before these laws are pushed through.
