Our Military Deployment Breakfast is Wednesday, October 21 from 7:30-8:00 am in the Science Lab. It is open to all students whose parents are currently deployed or have recently returned from deployment.

Service members and parents who recently returned from deployment are invited to attend with students. Please let your child's teacher know if they plan to attend.

🦛🏆 **5th Grade House Game #1: Hungry Hungry Hippos!**

Our 5th graders brought the energy and excitement as they competed in our first house game, **Hungry Hungry Hippos!** 🎉 The competition was fierce as students cheered on their houses and raced to collect as many marbles as possible.

We love seeing our Vikings show teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit! Way to go, 5th grade! 💪❤️🩶

🔎📚 **Book Busters in 2nd Grade!** 📚🔎

Our 2nd graders put their investigation skills to the test during their library time! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

During their Book Busters lesson, six book characters were in jail, but one was innocent! Students had to use their critical thinking skills, gather clues, and apply the process of elimination to solve the mystery and identify the innocent character. 🧐🔍

We love seeing our students use reading, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in such a fun and engaging way! Way to go, Book Busters! 🎉📖

Ms. Benefield and Mrs. Morton's ELA classroom transformed into the Writing ER where 5th graders became writing doctors!

Students worked to diagnose some seriously sick paragraphs! They examined writing for weak main ideas, missing evidence, lack of explanation and elaboration, and other writing emergencies. Once they identified the problems, they prescribed treatments to bring those paragraphs back to life!

But the real surgery came at the end! Students put their medical training to work by performing surgery on their OWN writing! They carefully examined their opinion-writing body paragraphs, identified areas needing improvement, and revised their work to make their writing stronger.

Our doctors learned that great writing doesn't happen in one draft. It takes diagnosing, treating, and revising!
