This week’s focus: BUILD A CALM DOWN TOOLBOX!
Big feelings are normal, and helping students practice calming skills at home can make a BIG difference when they feel frustrated, worried, or overwhelmed.
Some simple tools you can add to a Calm Down Toolbox:
🫧 Blow bubbles to practice slow, deep breathing
🖐️ Use pop-its for quiet fidgeting and focus
💙 Squeeze a stress ball to help release tension
These simple strategies help students slow their bodies down and calm their minds in healthy ways.
The best part? Most calm down tools are inexpensive, reusable, and easy to practice all summer long!
Practicing calming strategies now helps students build emotional regulation, confidence, and coping skills for the school year ahead.

This summer, challenge your student to read and log 20 books before school starts back in August! Students who turn in their completed reading log will earn a prize when they return to school! 🎉
Need books? We’ve got you covered!
📚 Visit your local library! Lowndes County Schools students can check out books using their student ID number.
📱 Students can also use the Sora app to borrow FREE e-books and audiobooks using their school account information.
Whether your child reads independently, listens to audiobooks, or reads together with family, every book counts!
Reading during the summer helps students strengthen:

Summer meals are back for Summer 2026! ☀️🍎
Lowndes County Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under at Lowndes High School from June 1 – July 30, Monday through Thursday.
📍Breakfast: 8:00–8:45 a.m.
📍Lunch: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Please note: Meals must be consumed on site.
We are proud to help support our students and families all summer long.

PGE staff enjoyed a wonderful end-of-the-year luncheon filled with laughter, memories, and appreciation for another amazing school year! 💙💛
Everyone took time to show love and appreciation to those who will be leaving PGE. While we will miss each of them greatly, we are thankful for the impact they have made on our students, staff, and school community. We wish them nothing but success and happiness in their next adventures!
A special thank you to our amazing CPIE ladies for all they do to support and encourage our staff members throughout the year. We are so thankful for the time, effort, and love they pour into making PGE such a wonderful place to work and learn!
