Get ready for something spooky, fun, and full of cultural legends! The Department of Modern & Classical Languages and Odum Library invite you to the 2025 edition of Monsters in the Library — happening next Thursday at 2:00 PM.

This annual event celebrates monsters, myths, and legends from around the world through storytelling and lively presentations. You’ll hear about fascinating creatures, mysterious tales, and perhaps even meet La Llorona herself! 👻

Join us for an afternoon of learning, laughter, and a few chills. Here’s the beautiful event poster designed by our creative friends at the library — please share it with others, bring your friends or students, and enjoy the spooky fun!

It’s hard to believe a new semester is nearly here! Only 11 more days until the first day of the Fall Semester!

What was the best book, tv show, or movie you enjoyed this summer?

It's the last week of May and we're ready for June! We are looking forward to a summer of orientations and sewing events.

Our first sewing event kicks off on Monday, June 2nd at 3pm behind the Reference Desk on the second floor of Odum.

We will provide an intro to the basics of sewing and sewing resources at Odum Library! There will be some starter materials available or bring your own sewing and mending projects to Sew Together!

Happy Earth Day! We always appreciate our beautiful campus, and picking up a nature journal or checking out a book could be a great way to commemorate the day.

Do you recognize this photo? We recently found a photo from the ‘90s (?) in one of our Popular Books. It’s a photograph depicting six children wearing VSU Prep shirts in front of a poster of the Grand Canyon. We’d like to give it a chance to be reunited with its owner.

On November 14th from 4-5pm, stop by for Sewing & Mending At Odum. An intro to the basics of sewing and sewing resources at Odum Library! Some starter materials will be available or bring your own sewing and mending projects. We'll be behind the Reference Desk on the second floor. We look forward to seeing you then!
