Homecoming week has always brought out a little extra school spirit!

And be sure to tell the gatekeeper your graduation year Friday night. We’ll be watching to see which class has the best representation!

We kicked off General Conversations* with Morgan (Plyler) Guthrie ’05!

Morgan spent time with our Juniors and Seniors sharing about the path her life has taken since GCS and some of the lessons she’s learned along the way. One of the things that impacted her most during her years here was the example of servanthood she saw all around her. She watched people give their time, talents and resources to serve GCS and others, and often not simply out of their abundance. That example has continued to shape the way she lives and serves today.

She also shared honestly about success and failure, walking through hard seasons, and learning that the path to where you hope to be isn’t always a straight one. Sometimes God’s timing looks very different from our own.

We’re so grateful to Morgan for coming back, sharing her story, and investing in the next generation of Generals. What a meaningful way to begin General Conversations!

*About General Conversations: Each month, a GCS alum will return to campus to spend time with our Juniors and Seniors, sharing their story, the lessons they’ve learned along the way, and a little of the wisdom they’ve gained since their own days at GCS.
