🔺 A Little Slice of Learning! 🍕

Our Kindergarten students had a blast creating their own pizzas using 2D shapes today! They explored shapes, got creative, and topped off their learning with some REAL pizza! 🍕😋

Now that’s what we call a delicious day of learning! ❤️

📚💕 Book Buddies was AWESOME!

Mrs. West and Mrs. Gay’s classes had such a great time together! Our 3rd graders were SO excited to read, connect, and spend time with their Kindergarten buddies.

There were lots of smiles, sweet moments, and of course, some great books shared! We’re already looking forward to our next Book Buddies meeting! 📖✨

📣 Happy National Instructional Coaches Day! 📣

Today, we are excited to celebrate two amazing members of our WES team—our Instructional Coach, Shaina Larson, and our Literacy Coach, Jennifer Swain!

Thank you both for the many ways you support, encourage, and work alongside our teachers and students each day. Whether you are sharing ideas, modeling strategies, providing resources, or simply jumping in wherever you are needed, you continue to show what it means to be ALL IN for Westside!

We are so thankful to have you both on our team and appreciate all you do to help our teachers grow and our students succeed. Help us give Ms. Larson and Mrs. Swain a BIG Westside shoutout today! 👏

🏈❤️ One Team. One Vision. One Westside. 🏈❤️

📚❤️ BOOK BUDDIES ARE HERE! ❤️📚

McDowell meets McDowell! 😊 Mrs. McDowell’s class and Mrs. McDowell’s class officially met their Book Buddies today!

For their first meeting, students worked together on a “Getting to Know My Buddy” book, giving them a chance to talk, laugh, ask questions, and learn a little more about the new friend they’ll be reading with throughout the year. 🥰

And that’s what Book Buddies is all about!

📖 Our younger Vikings get an older buddy beside them to read, encourage them, answer questions, and celebrate those small reading victories.

⭐ Our older Vikings get the opportunity to step up as leaders and reading role models while building a special connection with a younger student.

Today they learned about their buddies. Next time, the books come out! 📚❤️

New buddies. New connections. A whole year of reading together ahead!
