This year, we are honored to introduce the Nick Overstreet Spirit of Service Award, created in memory of VSU alumnus Nick Overstreet.

Nick’s dedication to Valdosta State University ran deep, from his time as SGA President, orientation leader, and Sigma Nu member to his years of service on the Alumni Board of Directors and MPA Advisory Board.

We knew that if we were going to create an award celebrating the kind of Blazer who gives their time, heart, and service to VSU, there was no better person to name it after. And there was no better family to receive the inaugural award.

This year, we will proudly present the first Nick Overstreet Spirit of Service Award to Nick’s family in recognition of the lasting impact he made on VSU and the countless ways he served his university.

Blazer Nation showed up in PINK!

Despite a last-minute game time change, Blazer Nation still made their way to the Alumni House for our Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out Game! It was a great morning of Blazer pride, community and support before heading to Bazemore-Hyder Stadium to cheer on our Blazers.

This week, we were also proud to honor the Red Hots for an incredible achievement: bringing home a national championship title for the 2026 season! Their dedication, energy and school spirit continue to make us proud to be part of Blazer Nation. This championship marks the Red Hots’ 10th national title!

A special thank-you to our President’s Tailgate sponsor, Plastic Surgery Associates of Valdosta, PC, for helping make the morning possible and for their continued support of Valdosta State University!

We’re not done yet! Our next President’s Tailgate is our Homecoming Tailgate on October 24! Come celebrate Homecoming with us before kickoff.
