🎓🐾 Congratulations to the 2026 S. L. Mason Elementary School Scholarship Recipient!

We are proud to recognize Lauren Grace Ball as the recipient of the 2026 S.L. Mason Elementary School Scholarship.

Presented by S.L. Mason Elementary School, this $500 scholarship honors a graduating senior who began their educational journey at S.L. Mason and has carried the school's values of excellence, perseverance, and pride throughout their academic career.

Lauren spent all six years at S.L. Mason and shared that the school felt like an extension of home, where caring educators encouraged her to strive for excellence and believe in her potential. Inspired by the school spirit of beloved teacher Michelle Garner, she set a childhood goal of becoming a Valdosta Wildcat cheerleader, a dream she proudly achieved.

This fall, Lauren will continue her educational journey at the University of Georgia.

📝 Each bag includes storage and heating instructions, along with details about what’s inside.

Hope was one of the most beloved members of the Valdosta City Schools family. She served several years at S. L. Mason before moving on to other schools in the district. This past fall we were blessed to have her back to provide comfort and healing and many smiles!

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we ask that you keep Officer Carla Jones and all who knew and loved Hope in your thoughts and prayers. The paw prints she left on our hearts will never fade.

Run free, sweet Hope. Thank you for the comfort, companionship, and love you shared with our students and staff. Your legacy will live on in every life you touched.

This event is open to former teachers, students, VECA alumni, friends, and community supporters.

Valdosta City Schools will be distributing free packed lunches for students on June 2, 2026 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM (while supplies last) at Valdosta High School, funded through the Seamless Summer Option Program.

Please have the following information ready: student name, school, and student ID number. Parent pick-ups are welcome!

Enter from Inner Perimeter, pick up at the student bus loop, and exit on Park Avenue.
